Hey there and welcome back to the Wellness Minute. I’m Dr. Craig Schulman. Let’s talk knees. Specifically—knee pain. Whether it creeps in while climbing stairs, aches during your workouts, or just feels stiff every morning, knee pain can be incredibly frustrating. But here’s the thing—knee pain doesn’t always mean surgery, injections, or medication. In fact, one of the most overlooked causes of knee pain is something happening above or below the knee itself. Let’s break that down. The knee is a hinge joint. It depends on proper alignment from both the hips and the feet. If your hips are tight or weak, or your arches are collapsing due to poor foot support, your knee ends up compensating—and over time, it gets inflamed, irritated, and painful. That’s where chiropractic care comes in. We don’t just look at the knee—we look at how the entire lower body moves. I assess the hips, pelvis, knees, ankles, and spine to see what’s really going on. Sometimes a misalignment in the lower back or pelvis can shift how you walk or stand, putting extra stress on the knees. With gentle chiropractic adjustments and focused muscle work, we can reduce joint pressure, improve mobility, and retrain the way your body supports itself. We also integrate soft tissue release, stretching, and strengthening to help you regain stability. For example, weak glutes often contribute to knee tracking problems. Strengthening your hips, quads, and calves—alongside adjustments—can restore balance and reduce that daily pain you’ve been putting up with. And if your knees ache after long periods of sitting or standing? It might be a sign your joints aren’t moving the way they should be. Mobility work paired with chiropractic care can help restore that lost range of motion. What about older adults dealing with arthritis in the knee? Even then, there’s often more we can do. While we can’t reverse arthritis, we can reduce inflammation, improve joint movement, and help you stay active without pain. Our goal is to keep you mobile and strong, without relying on pain pills or losing your favorite activities. Bottom line—if your knees are bothering you, don’t ignore it and don’t jump straight to surgery. Let’s find out what’s really behind the pain. We’ll take a full-body look, walk through your daily habits and movements, and create a natural plan to help you get back to doing what you love—without limping or limiting yourself.
